Michael Borek: Cue Art Foundation Exhibit, Life Force Magazine
Michael Borek's images have been appearing in quite a number of venues lately.
Two of Michael Borek’s photographs were selected by the curator Kayleigh Bryant-Greenwell for the exhibition Country, Home, in the Cue Art Foundation on 137 West 25th Street, New York, NY 10001. The exhibition will be held on September 5 – October 10, 2015, and the opening reception is on Saturday, September 12, 6-8pm. The gallery is open Tuesday – Saturday, 10am – 5pm. In her curator’s essay, Kayleigh Bryant-Greenwell wrote the following about Michael Borek photographs: “Borek’s scenes vigorously bring the viewer out of America and into his place of communist, often bleak, origin. His series of captured fences and the title ‘And They Make Good Neighbors’ considers boundaries, belonging, relationships in a direct engagement with the tension of looking in and looking out. His tightly cropped frames limit the contextualization of the scene depicted so often that the viewer doesn’t know if they are looking out or looking in.”
Michael Borek’s photography was also recently covered by Life Force Magazine, an online magazine which celebrates the art-form of the photo-essay.

Karen Keating: "I Come From..."
Fine art photographer, Karen Keating, will present new work in her solo exhibit at Multiple Exposures Gallery.
Karen’s images are a visual conversation using words and images as her voice in this exhibit. Encouraged through a creative class and drawing from a notebook of captured phrases from numerous sources – songs, radio interviews, poems, newspapers, novels – Karen has joined images with a touch of words. She reflects on her roots both looking back and looking inward. The images use light, shadow, and black and white as fundamentals. She looks carefully at simplicity to express reverence for the quiet, found moments, often in the landscape.
Karen's work will be on exhibit September 8 – October 18, 2015. Please join us for a Reception on Saturday, September 12, 2-4pm and an Artist Talk on Sunday, September 27, 3-4pm.

Soomin Ham to exhibit at Flashpoint Gallery in 2016
Last week CulturalDC released the schedule for their 2015-16 exhibition season. Multiple Exposures Gallery is proud to announce that Soomin Ham will be one of nine artists selected to exhibit at Flashpoint Gallery in the upcoming year.
SOOMIN HAM - SOUND OF BUTTERFLY April 2 – 30, 2016
Ham’s ongoing project “Sound of Butterfly” presents an experimental, yet personal approach to seeing, understanding and interpreting memories of grief and loss. The project reflects her mother’s journey through life, depression, and death. Sound of Butterfly includes the artist’s photographs of the special belongings her mother left behind, as well as old photographs, that go through a process involving washing, freezing and other interventions that reveal a narrative beyond the image.
