About Sarah Hood Salomon

Sarah Hood Salomon is a fine art photographer whose work explores the emotional aspects of the world around her. Her photography often focuses on people who are alone, whether they are solitary figures, or those in a crowd who are lost within their own thoughts. These self-imposed solitudes cannot be fully understood, but glimpses of their meaning can be seen in the gestures and body language of the individuals.

Sarah often utilizes camera motion and slow shutter speeds to add a layer of anonymity to the subjects.  By moving the camera while the shutter is open,  familiar objects are slightly abstracted to reveal a more lyrical and universal moment. Characteristics are obscured so a viewer might recognize themselves in a similar reverie.

Further images and information are available on her website.
