WINTER | Juror: Craig Sterling | January 3 - January 29, 2023

WINTER, juried by Craig Sterling, features the work of 14 MEG artists. When selecting images for the exhibition, Sterling said he sought to go beyond the most literal representations of winter: "I think John Steinbeck said it best: 'What good is the warmth of summer, without the cold of winter to give it sweetness.' Winter can be both harsh and beautiful all at the same time.”

Sterling selected six images for special recognition:

1st place: Winter Field by Maureen Minehan
2nd place: Guidance by Tom Sliter
3rd place: Black Overcoats by Sarah Salomon
Honorable mentions: Face in the Barn (Sandy LeBrun-Evans), Intersection (Francine B. Livaditis) and Icicles (Alan Sislen)
