ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Multiple Exposures Gallery is pleased to present WHAT IS LEFT BEHIND by Alistair Corden. The exhibition takes viewers on a journey through the northern Great Plains of the United States, where the farmland is scattered with decaying, vacant farmhouses and barns. Built around the turn of the 20th century, the structures housed the parents and grandparents of today’s family farmers, reflecting a life that was simpler but harder to live. These homes have slowly succumbed to the ravages of time and a brutal climate. Inside, the artifacts of occupation remain: clothes, books, furniture, and cooking utensils are as common as the evidence of newer occupants seeking shelter within their walls.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

Early retirement from a career in aviation has allowed Alistair to pursue his lifelong passion for photography. Working primarily in black and white, he prints using alternative Platinum/Palladium processes and Piezography, a digital printing system using only shades of grey ink.
