2025 GALLERY MEMBERSHIP CALL
Multiple Exposures Gallery (MEG), located at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, VA, represents fifteen photographers recognized for excellence in fine art photography. The gallery presents thoughtfully curated rotating exhibitions, often in collaboration with nationally acclaimed jurors and curators, and offers an outstanding selection of original photographs and photography books. Now in its 40th year, MEG is a vibrant forum for artistic exchange, appreciation, and education.
With two long-standing members stepping away—one relocating and another retiring—MEG has issued a Call for New Members and invites local photographers interested in gallery membership to apply for consideration.

APPLICATION PROCESS
The MEG membership application, review and selection process involves the following steps:
1) Attend a Membership Information Session
The process of applying for and gaining membership to MEG is disciplined and requires a serious commitment. To provide guidance to prospective applicants, MEG is holding optional information sessions on the following dates:
Sunday, September 21, 11am — in person at MEG
Wednesday, October 8, 7pm — via Zoom
The information session is optional, but attendance is encouraged so you can receive helpful information about the gallery, membership responsibilities, and the portfolio you will be required to submit. Register for an Information Session here: Information Session RSVP. (Note: the content is the same for both sessions. We encourage attendance at the in-person session, if possible, to see the gallery and Torpedo Factory firsthand.)
2) Notify MEG of Intent to Apply
If you plan to submit an application for membership consideration, please notify us of your intention to apply by sending an email to Maureen Minehan, MEG Vice President at info@multipleexposuresgallery.com by Saturday, November 1, 2025. Before making your decision to apply, we recommend you review the description of Member Responsibilities and Obligations to ensure your expectations are the same as those of the gallery.
3) Prepare Portfolio and Application Document
To be considered for membership at MEG, you must provide:
A representative photographic portfolio of your best work. Please use these Portfolio Submission Guidelines to assist in preparing your portfolio.
A completed MEG membership application, including a current resume and artist statement. Please download the application form here: Membership Application
4) Deliver Portfolio and Application to the Gallery
Place your completed application inside your portfolio box and deliver it to the gallery no later than Monday, December 1, 2025 @ 5pm. The gallery is open daily 11am-5pm. Please note portfolios will not be accepted after the deadline.
5) Interview with MEG Members
Each applicant must schedule and meet in-person at the gallery with a minimum of three (3) and maximum of five (5) MEG members by Sunday, January 4, 2026. After submitting your application, you will receive an email from Maureen Minehan with the gallery staffing schedule and email addresses of MEG members, and you will reach out directly to the individual members with whom you would like to meet to schedule interview times.
6) Pick Up Portfolio
Gallery members will meet in early January 2026 to conduct a formal review of each application and portfolio and, after careful consideration, determine if membership will be offered to any applicants. Results of this review process will be emailed to each applicant no later than January 7, 2026. Once notified of the outcome, each applicant must pick up their portfolios by Monday, January 19, 2026, during gallery hours (11am-5pm). The gallery is not responsible for portfolios that remain after this date has passed.
