2026 Call for New Members

Multiple Exposures Gallery is seeking local fine art photographers to join our community of exhibiting artists.

Multiple Exposures Gallery (MEG), located at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, VA, is a cooperative gallery representing 15 photographers recognized for excellence in fine art photography. Now in its 41st year, MEG presents thoughtfully curated rotating exhibitions, often in collaboration with nationally acclaimed jurors and curators, and offers an outstanding selection of original photographs and photography books. Named by the City of Alexandria as a “beacon for all who appreciate the art and craft of photography,” MEG is a vibrant forum for artistic exchange, appreciation, and education.

Local fine art photographers interested in becoming MEG members are encouraged to apply. Accepted applicants will join MEG in early 2027, with the next opportunity for membership in 2028. The application process and important dates are outlined below.

WHAT’S REQUIRED

Membership at MEG is both an artistic and professional commitment. Members share responsibility for staffing the gallery, participating in exhibitions, attending monthly meetings, and contributing to the ongoing operation and development of the gallery. As you consider whether to apply, please review this list of Member Responsibilities and Obligations to ensure your expectations align with ours.

HOW TO APPLY

This year, we have implemented a new, two-round member selection process that provides applicants with updated guidance on what we are seeking in potential members, while reducing the costs associated with preparing a portfolio for consideration. With this new process, applicants will first submit a digital portfolio and application, which will be reviewed by the MEG membership in early November. Following this review, applicants whose work is selected for further consideration will be invited to submit a print portfolio during the second round. This process ensures that applicants only invest in a print portfolio after advancing from the digital submission round.
