Statement
As seasons change, I revisit nearby rivers, mountains, and forests. The familiar features are comforting both in memories and in the present. I read the changing landscapes, noting what once was and what might be in years ahead. I photograph the water’s ripples, the blue ridges, and tree-lined paths, new each time.
In 2020, I began rediscovering Eastern landscapes close to home in Virginia and Maryland. The Manassas Battlefield, steeped in history, became a study in the gesture of trees. The Potomac River delighted in autumn with mist over the water. Shenandoah’s mountains offered respite from the city and the mystery of fog-filled forests.
“Revisited” explores a deep connection to nature, the land, and memory in 12 color photographs. These are the places I return to for solitude and renewal, and when joined by family and friends, for celebration and tradition.
I invite you to walk alongside me. Hear the melody of the dawn chorus, embrace the tranquility of nature, and journey to these places, “Revisited.”
